The Masters Golf Tournament – Trevor Immelman

I’m pulling for Trevor Immelman to win the Masters Golf Tournament this weekend.  Why?  It was back in 1998 that I received a phone call from a man with an English accent who said he was from South Africa and was in Orlando, could he come see me at my office.

Why Does Take Shape For Life Work For Me?

April 12, 2008 By kwmccarthy

As of this morning I weigh 219 – down from 230 8 days ago.  I’ve been pondering this system since I began.  A friend emailed me and asked why is it working for you?

Why it is TSFL working?  Here are a bunch of my thoughts kinda thrown out there:

Extending Grace

April 11, 2008 By kwmccarthy

Today, I offered an On-Purpose® Person training to a select few.  When I’m trying something new, I’ll often pull together a beta group.  Christianne was a participant.  She’s a bright young woman who is a writer and grad student.  There is something about talking about one’s purpose and being all clinical about it.  It is another thing to experience it.

Toward the end of the day, I was sharing at story of a speaking engagement I had in St. George, Utah years ago.  After signing books for a couple of hours, the last person in the long line was a young woman who was well overweight.  With tears in her eyes she joyfully declared, "I know my purpose in life.  It is to lose weight."

Who Am I?

April 9, 2008 By kwmccarthy

Few questions haunt us as much as the "Who Am I?" question.  If you don’t know who you are, then the entirely to your life, despite your accomplishments, is lived under your potential.  Sobering thought, huh?

Within this blog, you’ll gain a clear and powerful answer to the "Who am I?" question and its companions that I call Life’s Great Questions.  Each is worthy of Great Answers, yet most of us are too busy to ask, let alone ponder and sufficiently answer each question.  Great Answers will transform your life forever.

Consider your answers to the following "Who Am I?" questions:

Ready, Set, Lose

April 4, 2008 By kwmccarthy

Last evening my Take Shape For Life food arrived.  This morning I weighed in at 230 pounds on my scale.P1020932
I don’t have the nerve to show my "before" pictures yet.  Vanity, I guess.  But I decided to at least post this photo of my scale.  Nice feet, huh?

I decided to track my weight.  In talking with Lori I discovered Take Shape For Life provides a free web site to track a number of things.  Lori give me my log in information.  I’ll dig around there and see what it holds.  Chances are I’ll just use a spreadsheet.

Today I begin to Take Shape For the Rest of my Life (I hope).

Gotta lose some weight – Part 3

April 2, 2008 By kwmccarthy

Perhaps I’m obsessing about this.  I’m glad I have time to prepare
myself mentally before starting the Take Shape For Life program.  Once
my food arrives, I think I’ll be in the right frame of mind.  I feel a
lot like getting ready to play "the big game" as in sports.  There’s a degree of performance anxiety mixed with wanting to get out there to prove to myself I can do this.

True confessions here.  The first 35 years of my life I was an athlete.  It was a part of my vision of myself.  Since I hurt a knee and stopped competing on the tennis court, I’ve gradually added weight every year.  Now at age 53, I find myself with all this extra weight.  Somehow, I’ve adjusted my self vision to accommodate being a fat person.  None of this, in my case, has to do with genetics, hormones, or whatever.  It all has to do with choices… bad choices.
