What is the Upside to a Down Economy?

August 2, 2012 By kwmccarthy

Financial challenges rip at a misplaced sense of security. These can be very challenging and humbling times. My business has been hurting this year because I allowed myself to be in a position where a client could stiff me for a large sum of money. The ripple effects touch every aspect of my life and business.

Because we're working as a team and as a family, good is coming out of the hardship. How about you? Please share your comments or story of the upside of a down economy. Your thoughts may inspire, comfort, or encourage someone in a similar situation to see things in a more positive and productive light. Hope need never be lost.

The Myth of Work Life Balance

February 18, 2008 By kwmccarthy

How do I achieve work life balance?  Here is another question I get asked frequently.  And here is where I am a self-help heretic.

Call it what you may, life work balance, work life balance, balancing my life, finding balance, or whatever description you want to use.  Work life balance is a myth, a distraction, a misguided principle, a false concept, an inaccurate ideal, and a missed target.

Here on my blog I’ll be exploring The Myth of Work Life Balance and invite your comments, questions, and, frankly, disagreements.  I’ve debated this with many persons.  More importantly, you won’t be left hanging.  There is a better alternative.
