It was a crystal clear September Fall day in Pittsburgh when my brother and I took flight in the Robinson R-44 helicopter.
Ya gotta try it!
My brother, Bob, had always wanted to fly a helicopter so at age 54 he started his first lessons. Within a year he earned his private pilot’s license to fly a helicopter. He bought a Robinson R-44, an amazing machine.
I had never flown in a helicopter before… and I found out afterward that my brother had never flown a passenger before other than his flight instructors. Not to worry, Bob is a smart guy and prudent. I felt safe knowing my big brother was at the controls.
Click here for a link to the Pittsburgh tour from the air. It takes no more than two minutes to watch the slide show. You’ll see Heinz Field where the Pittsburgh Steelers play. PNC Park – home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The famous point where the Allegheny and the Monongahela Rivers form the Ohio River. We flew over our high school alma mater – Shady Side Academy. Fox Chapel Country Club and The Field Club. We took a couple of passes over the city of Pittsburgh.
Really, ya gotta try it!
