I HAVE to lose some weight! January 1, 2008, I weighed 239 pounds! On a 5' 9" frame that is a lot of weight even for someone with a stocky build. Since January, I've been exercising and eating better. To a degree I was successful and got down as low as 225, but tended to hover in the 228 to 232 range. Better, but not good enough. I have a killer sweet tooth. Something had to change. A couple of days ago, I committed myself to…
a healthy lifestyle program called Take Shape For Life.
I really want to be successful at this, but I must admit that making a change—even for the chief spokesperson for the On-Purpose movement—isn't easy. All kinds of doubts have crept into my thinking. Can I do this? What about my cravings for Hot Tamales cinnamon candy? Chocolate—oh no! What is life without chocolate? How did I let myself get to the point where losing so much weight was necessary? What's eating me that I'm eating so much?
I placed my first TSFL order with my Health Coach, Lori. She's an RN by training, but a Health Coach with Take Shape For Life. Her husband, Wayne, is an MD and the medical director of the company. I've included a link to their web site just in case you want to connect with them.
I'm actually looking forward to getting started. I've decided that posting in this blog will give me additional accountability. Dare I post before photos? I took some, but am I that brave to show off my body? Perhaps I need to check with Jamie Lee Curtis and her "True Thighs".
