On April 11, I shared Christanne’s story of articulating her purpose statement: I exist to serve by Extending Grace. She came by the office to visit today. It was so much fun to listen to her share how her purpose statement is penetrating her soul and everyday experience.
She’s feeling a great sense of integrity about her faith and herself.
There comes a wholeness, shalom – oneness with God – in knowing one’s
purpose in life. It really is indescribable because it just is – an
experience that words don’t due justice because the words are mere
models of what is. And as powerful as words are, they can’t capture
the fullness of just being on-purpose.
Knowing one’s purpose also has practical implications. For example,
she’s a writer who has longed to write a book, but could never really
land on a central theme. Her purpose statement is bringing her clarity
around the issue. I look forward to learning more about Christanne’s
journey out of the wilderness into the land of milk and honey.
